An electric furnace uses several heavy-duty heating coils to warm your air. If one of the coils burns out, the furnace only produces half the heat you need. We can quickly test each coil and replace burned-out elements on the spot.

When air cannot flow freely through your furnace (usually due to a clogged air filter), heat gets trapped inside. A built-in safety switch shuts the unit down to prevent damage. Replacing the filter or resetting the switch usually solves this.

First, check your thermostat to make sure the fan setting is set to 'AUTO' instead of 'ON'. If it is on AUTO, a small control relay switch inside the furnace may be stuck in the closed position, which we can easily replace.

If your furnace runs non-stop without warming the house, it is working twice as hard as it needs to. Dirty air filters, worn fan motors, or drafty ductwork force the system to draw extra electricity. A quick tune-up restores smooth operation.

Electric furnaces use special timing switches (called sequencers) to turn on the heating coils one by one so they don't overload your home's electrical panel. When a sequencer fails, the coils won't turn on. We carry universal replacements.

A light dusty smell during the first cool day of the year is normal — it is just harmless dust burning off the coils. However, if you smell burning plastic or the smell lasts longer than 30 minutes, turn it off and call us to check for loose wires.
